Description

 Submodule SMR-17VF features 2 VF channels for linking up analog interfaces of long distance channels (four-wire VF channels or two-wire subscriber lines of head-on PBXs and commutators)

Supported modes:
  • Two-wire termination: for open telephony with no transit extenders on the telephone commutator;
  • Two-wire termination, transit: for temporal transit linking of open telephone channels, for terminal link, transit extenders on the telephone commutator provided;
  • Four-wire termination: for multichannel tone telegraph networks, secure telephony, secure data transmission, for transit links, connecting circuit of significant length;
  • Four-wire termination, transit: for permanent transit links.
The mode is chosen by means of web-interface of the SG-17R base platform.
 
Unlike traditional ways of transmission of VF channel, Submodule SMR-17VF transmits data using IP-technology. The equipment transforms analog data into digital and forms packets to be sent over IP-network, which provides the following options, when used within SG-17R base platform:
  • Using existing IP-networks for data transmission;
  • Setting up multipurpose traffic within the chosen data channel;
  • Managing traffic within the chosen transmission channel, both using QoS and dedicating a fixed band for IP-traffic;
  • Transmitting data through heterogeneous media, like optics, EM waves, satellite signals, which require data routing at junctions;
  • Transmitting data over various interfaces (Ethernet, SHDSL, E1, RS232) without additional equipment.
Submodule SMR-17VF may operate installed on the SG-17R base platform, combined with other submodules, namely SMR-17VO (FXO), SMR-17VS (FXS), installed on the same or different MR-17V* module-boards.

Usage example description

Purpose: setting up VoIP gateways with different functional FXO and FXS modules. From 2 to 32 single-type ports in increments of 2 may be installed simultaneously. Simultaneous operation of the FXO (MR-17V8/SMR-17Vo) and FXS (MR-17V8/SMR-17Vs) modules is possible, the modules possessing the functions of a mini-BPX. Any interfaces of SG-17R (Ethernet, SHDSL, E1) may operate as channel-forming equipment.

Usage example description

Purpose: transfer of voice frequency channels using IP technology. This allows using a shared medium for multipurpose traffic, using the existing network infrastructure for linkage and assigning the destination IP address. The link with the senior equipment is maintained through different channel-forming equipment: Ethernet, SHDSL, E1, RS232. Single SG-17R may transmit up to 32 voice frequency channels of two- or four-wire termination.

Transmitting voice frequency channels for two- and four-wire terminations using SHDSL

Usage example description

Purpose: setting up a dedicated voice frequency channel for 300 – 3400 Hz signals. These signals are transmitted by means of IP technology through MR-17V8/SMR-VF modules. If SG-17E regenerators are used, it is possible to establish different alarm systems along extended trunks. From 2 to 32 VF ports in increments of 2 may be installed on a single SG-17R. Up to 8 remotely-powered regenerators may be used; for locally-powered regenerators this number is unlimited. There is also an option to transmit voice frequency channels over other interfaces of the SG-17R base platform, namely Ethernet and E1.
